The Best Android, iPad and iPhone Real Estate Apps

With technology at our fingertips via our smartphones, why not utilize real estate apps to help you find your dream home. Here are the top three FREE real estate apps to be sure to check out as reported by Brian S. Hall on RealWrite.com.

Trulia Real Estate App

This app has a simple and easy to navigate design with ample listings of properties for sale—along with links to open houses and agents.  The search feature allows you to do so either by city or address. You can also let the GPS service provide a map of all nearby homes for sale (within your specific criteria). What’s even better – as you drive through an area, the map will adjust, updating the homes quickly as your position changes. You can also sort listings by price, features (e.g. number of bedrooms), and by “newest” listing. Trulia also makes it very easy for the user to set-up notifications and to save important searches. These searches are then linked to their website, so you can login and review your favorites on your laptop at a later time. Trulia also helps you find any property listed by providing turn-by-turn directions.

Zillow Real Estate App

Zillow offers a ton of information on each listing including a photo tour of the property, a sales history and an estimate of its current value. Zillow also includes a “draw” feature that lets you swipe an area on the map that then displays the listings within that area. The app also includes “pre-market” properties.

Redfin Real Estate App

Redfin provides a simple, yet detailed search interface. You can search by GPS, type in a city or street—or even an MLS number—and narrow these down across several search criteria. These can include price, square footage, year built, number of baths, etc. Redfin also notifies you if a house is currently pending. In addition, Redfin gives you access to homes that have recently sold and for how much.

Overall, real estate apps should provide you with detailed listings and options to get notified of new homes in your area. All three of the apps above are available on iPhone, iPad and Android – free of charge! They also have companion websites, with additional layers of information available, such as school rankings and property taxes. If you’re looking for a real estate app to help you with your property search, considering downloading Trulia, Zillow or Redfin.
